With five acres and three buildings, Blue Rock students enjoy many opportunities throughout the day to spend time outdoors in every season.
Whether traveling to art class, or music lessons in our Art and Nature Studies Annex, going to dance or drama in the Barn’s multipurpose room or visiting the Kindergarten in the main building our students have activities that connect them to the whole campus.
Being outdoors in our garden, woods and play areas provides students with time to connect with nature as they play and study. Two recesses a day are essential as they cultivate students’ social learning and build children’s physical prowess and confidence.
Science lessons, poetry, art, gym and reading, regularly happen outdoors.
Field trips are an excellent way for students to deepen their studies and further understand how the history, science and arts they are learning in school relate to the local community and larger world.
